Udupi: A person who bought a Bluetooth online has been cheated of Rs 87,000 and a case in this connection has been registered with Udupi CEN Crime police station.
Kunjali Dinesh Devali’s son Aniruddh had placed an online order for Bluetooth speakers on July 14th. On July 21st, he received a call asking him to pay Rs 17,000 to receive the parcel. On checking the delivered parcel, it turned out that the speakers belonged to a company other than the ones the victim had placed an order for. When he raised the issue with the customer care, they replied that it was by mistake and assured to pay back the money. Besides, they also sent a message to Dinesh Devali’s mobile phone. They asked him to forward the message to another mobile number. As soon as he forwarded the message, a total of Rs 87,000 in four transactions was drawn from Mr Devali’s account without his concern through PayTM app, states the victim in his complaint to the police.
