Bengaluru: The BBMP surveyed and found out that only 53 flexes in the city are authorized or legal. Where in the rest of the flexes were illegally installed.
BBMP officials will again conduct raids.” However, the Ramamurthy Nagar police, probing the case of attack on civic workers who were removing flexes in their jurisdiction, have arrested three more persons. With this the total number of arrested has up to seven.
The council has however decided to impose a blanket ban on all flex boards and banners in an attempt to control the hoarding menace.
The council members demanded that hoardings and banners installed create a blockage and spoil the visual beauty of the city. The move will also virtually ban hoarding advertisements across the city.
ayor R Sampath Raj said that there are many authorised hoardings which bring revenue to the civic body and a ban on all the hoardings might not be the right idea.BBMP Commissioner N Manjunatha Prasad said, “We have not given permission for any advertisements through flex boards in the city for the last one year.
