The drive is called as ‘Operation Surprise Check’. The special drive was carried out between 11.30 am and 1.30 pm at 178 locations across the city. 6,247 cases were booked at the end of the operation
As reported by TOI, a traffic police officer said, “Traffic violators thought they knew us very well and would outsmart us by moving through lanes where cops wouldn’t be present. We decided to surprise them and drive home the message that rules can’t be taken for granted.”
