‘Orange alert’: Heavy rain expected in Karnataka coast

Mangaluru/Udupi: There is a possibility of heavy monsoon rains in the coastal region, and an ‘Orange Alert’ has been issued from June 21 to 23.

During this period, heavy winds and rain are expected. The Indian Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow alert for June 20.

In Dakshina Kannada district, the intensity of rain has decreased for the past few days, with moderate rain observed in some places on Wednesday. In the morning and evening, good rainfall was recorded in Mangaluru, Bantwal, Puttur, Belthangady, Sullia, and Subrahmanya.

Rain in Udupi:

In Udupi district, heavy rain was experienced in many places on Wednesday morning and night. Kundapura, Byndoor, and areas around Udupi received rain, with heavy rain on Tuesday late night and Wednesday early morning. From noon to evening, the weather was cloudy and sunny. After evening, intermittent heavy rain was observed in several places.
