Kundapur: The assistant commissioner here has taught a good lesson to the children who distanced their parents after acquiring their property. He has ordered the four people to return the property back to their parents.

Udupi district Senior Citizens Welfare Management Committee and Kundapur Assistant Commissioner T.Bhoobalan has initiated action against four people from Santekatte, Kurkalu, Kundapur and Byndoor in Udupi.

Action is taken on complaints against children, who fail to take care of their parents and abandon them. Normally, in such cases, the accused are ordered to pay a monthly allowance to the victim. Such judgment has been given to 30 such cases. But in the case where the children remain with their parents for the property, write it over to their name and then push out their parents on to the street, the children’s name is removed and the property is returned back to the parents. This order is sent to the Sub-registrar office where the documents are rectified, explained Bhoobalan.

Though there is a government order to transfer the senior citizens from the Spoorti Dhama in Keduru, due to the Moral code of conduct in place, this is not possible and therefore needs to be done within a week’s period, was the order passed by the Child development planning officer.
