Chikkaballapura: Former Minister DK Shivakumar made first campaign appearance on Monday by accompanying Chikkaballapura candidate M Anjanappa for submission of nomination papers.

DK Shivakumar had stayed away from the party’s bypolls campaign.

Addressing the gathering after Anjanappa submitted his nominations Shivakumar said, “I appeal you to teach a lesson to the defector because of whom this unnecessary bypolls have been imposed.”

He was referring to disqualified Congress legislator K Sudhakar, who is contesting on a BJP ticket.

It may be recalled that Shivakumar had said last week that couldn’t campaign for the party earlier as he was not been given additional tasks because of his legal troubles.

Shivakuma is out on bail after being quizzed over money laundering charges.
