Out on bail, head constable attempts suicide

Udupi: A head constable, attached to Udupi coastal security police station tried to end his life by consuming sleeping pills on Tuesday while he was out on bail in connection with illegal cattle trafficking case
The constable, Santhosh Shetty, 37, along with another police personnel was arrested by the Kota police last week for allegedly receiving a bribe to facilitate the illegal trafficking of cattle to Kerala.
On Tuesday, Santosh who was out on bail consumed sleeping pills inside a car at Adi Udupi and sent a message to SP. Immediately police personnel rushed to the spot and admitted him to KMC hospital.
