Outdoor game turns ugly; BJP worker assaulted by gang

Mangaluru: An outdoor game being played at the Suratkal beach here took an ugly turn after a gang of 15 persons allegedly attacked one of the members of the playing group on Sunday, September 30.

The victim, Shivanand, 31, a BJP party worker sustained injuries in the attack and is undergoing treatment at a hospital 

On Sunday night Shivanand along with his friends was playing Lagori at the beach when the gang of 15 persons who arrived here picked up a quarrel with them over the ball. The verbal spat soon went out of hand and the gang assaulted Shivanand.

Though Shivanand tried to evade their assault by entering a nearby house, the gang followed him and beat him up there too. 

A case stands has been registered at Suratkal police station.
