Over 1,800 New IT Jobs: Mangaluru City Poised for Growth
Press Release, Dec 6, 2024, 11:32 AM IST
Mangaluru, known for its remarkable strides in education, healthcare, and technical fields, continues to shine as a hub for human resource development. The city’s talent pool, nurtured by its technical institutions, has attracted multinational companies that trust the skills, dedication, and work ethics of the local youth.
However, the dynamics have changed significantly, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. Many professionals sought opportunities closer to home, avoiding the need to relocate to Bengaluru or abroad. Addressing this shift, there has been a growing demand for enhanced local infrastructure, including IT parks, to support employment within the city.
Vertex Workspace: Meeting the New Workforce Needs
Mukund MGM Realty took a bold step by introducing the innovative concept of Vertex Workspace during the pandemic. This initiative provided IT professionals the resources needed to work with global companies while staying in Mangaluru.
The pandemic saw a significant return of IT professionals who previously worked in Europe, the US, Singapore, Japan, and Gulf countries. These individuals faced challenges like unreliable high-speed internet and inconsistent power supply while working remotely. Vertex Workspace addressed these issues by offering top-notch infrastructure, allowing these professionals to remain productive and connected.
Government Initiatives and Growing Opportunities
The Karnataka government’s Digital Economy Mission has been expanded to include Mangaluru as part of the Smart City project. This move has catalyzed the establishment of over 150 IT and corporate companies in the last three years, creating more than 6,000 jobs.
At the forefront of this growth is Vertex Workspace, which spans 1.5 lakh square feet and supports over 35 organizations. This has directly contributed to the creation of 2,500 jobs, with more professionals now working for the same international firms but from their hometowns. The project has gained immense popularity, and over 25 companies are currently vying for space at Vertex.
By 2025, Mangaluru is expected to witness the entry of several global IT giants, potentially generating over 10,000 additional jobs, according to Gurudatta Shenoy, a managing partner at Mukund MGM Realty.
Ashoka Business Center: The Next Big Leap
Another transformative project by Mukund MGM Realty is the Ashoka Business Center, located in Bejai-Kapikad. Scheduled for completion by mid-2025, this 2 lakh square foot facility will provide workspace for over 2,500 professionals.
The center is being developed as an eco-friendly green building with uninterrupted internet, reliable power supply, and landscaped surroundings. It aims to offer a peaceful and efficient workspace, free from urban traffic challenges.
Invest Smart, Invest in Mangaluru
With tier-2 cities like Mangaluru emerging as growth hubs, Mukund MGM Realty has launched the Invest Smart – Invest in Mangaluru initiative. The goal is to create additional workspaces and employment opportunities.
Investors partnering on these projects can benefit from rental returns of up to 8% from international companies, making it a lucrative opportunity.
