Over 4 kg gold seized at Kempegowda airport, two held

Bengaluru: Over four kg gold, worth more than 1 crore, was seized in separate cases at Kempegowda International Airport here and two persons arrested in this connection, the Customs department said Friday.

A passenger, who arrived from Dubai by an Emirates Airline flight on Sunday, was found carrying 3.67 kg worth Rs 1.19 crore. He had concealed it in his check-in baggage.

The gold was seized and the passenger arrested, the department said.

In the other case, a passenger who arrived by an Air India flight was found in possession of 359 grams gold worth Rs 11.60 lakh.

He had hidden the gold inside a trolley bag handle.

The passenger has been arrested, they added.
