New Delhi: President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), Asaduddin Owaisi, who took oath on Tuesday said, “Jai Bheem, Jai Meem, Takbeer Allahu Akbar, Jai Hind ” after a Member of Parliament chanted ‘Jai Shri Ram’.
Owaisi was also greeted with the slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’ when he was called to take oath as a Lok Sabha MP.
Reacting over the “Jai Shri Ram” and “Vande Mataram” slogans being raised in Lok Sabha while he was taking oath as MP, Asaduddin Owaisi said, “It is good that they remember such things when they see me, I hope they will also remember the constitution and deaths of children in Muzaffarpur.”
On the first day of the 17th Lok Sabha, Union minister of state for environment and forest Babul Supriyo took oath as Lok Sabha MP. Bharatiya Janata Party members loudly cheered with “Jai Shri Ram”.
The chant of Jai Shri Ram was a jibe at West Bengal’s ruling party Trinamool Congress and state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who has been embroiled in a bitter battle with the BJP over who will take control of the political landscape of West Bengal.
