Oxygen unit donated by Sonu Sood foundation reaches Ullal

Mangaluru: Trucks carrying oxygen plant donated by actor Sonu Sood’s foundation has reached Ullal on Thursday, August 19. They were accorded a grand reception by residents in Ullal.
Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner, Dr K V Rajendra, said that the unit will be able to produce 30 to 40 cylinders of oxygen every day.
The unit is being installed by sharing the cost by the foundation and the district administration at the ratio of 75:25, he said. The unit will be installed by the health department on behalf of the district administration on Friday.
The Sonu Sood Charitable Foundation, led by actor Sonu Sood, had promised to set up an oxygen-producing unit at the Ullal primary health center at a cost of about Rs 64 lakh.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra KV has spoken with the Foundation’s officials about the need for an oxygen plant in the district while the Foundation was inaugurating a rapid oxygen centre at Mangaluru Central railway station.
The foundation, responding to the request, decided to construct the plant.
