Chikkaballapur: In an appalling incident, an 11-year-old boy was mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs in Shidlaghatta on October 31.
The deceased boy Qalandar Khan was a fourth-standard student at Urdu Higher Primary School in Shidlaghatta.
Sources said the boy’s father, who worked as a daily-wage labourer, had gone out in the morning.
The boy who came out of the house was savagely ambushed by a pack of more than 20 dogs, sources added.
By the time the villagers rushed to his rescue, the boy had succumbed to the injuries sustained in the dog attack. His body bore several bite marks and his clothes were torn apart.
Villagers expressed their ire at the local administration for failing to curb the dog menace though they were notified about it in the past.
