Padma Shri awardee Ibrahim Sutar passes away

Mahalingapura: Padma Shri awardee Ibrahim Sutar (76) passed away at the dawn of February 5 at Rabakavibanahatti in Bagalkot.
Sources said he suffered a heart attack in the morning and was rushed to a hospital. But he could not be saved.
Ibrahim N Sutar was born on May 10, 1940, to Nabisaheb and Aminabi couple. Though he studied only till the third standard, Ibrahim learned the tenets of the Quran and Namaz at the mosque and later studied the Bhagavadgita. He was a weaver by profession.
Ibrahim Sutar was a beacon of religious harmony. His sermons and speeches were immensely popular among the masses. His speech at the Sarva Dharma Sammelana (All religion Conference) in Dharmasthala had gone viral on social media.
For his achievements, Ibrahim Suthar was awarded the Karnataka Rajyotsava Award by the Karnataka government in 1995, and the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2018.
CM expresses condolences:
“I am saddened to hear of the passing of Padma Shri awardee Ibrahim Suthar, who has been dying this morning” Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai said and added that he prayed that God would grant him peace and give strength to his bereaved family and friends to bear this loss.
