Padubidri: To relieve traffic congestion on the National Highway 66 and in Padubidri town, the bus stop for buses to the interior areas and Karkala has been shifted to the junction on the Padubidri-Karkala road.

Buses plying to Udupi and Karkala were stopping along the highway causing a lot of traffic on the highway. Acknowledging this problem, Padubidri station officer Dilip had on Monday issued orders for a separate bus stop for buses travelling to Karkala.

“In Padubidri, highway works are being carried out in places where there is little space. Basically, three-wheelers and taxis are suffering from a lack of stops at Padubidri. A bus station also needs to be built keeping in mind the safety of the people,” Padubidri gram panchayat president Davi Shetty Padebettu said.
