Padubidri: Police arrest three for plotting theft

Three persons who tried to evade a routine vehicle checking by police personnel at Nandikoor junction were arrested following a chase after it was found that they were plotting to commit theft.
On Thursday, August 4 Padubidri police station personnel who were conducting routine checks at Nandikoor junction signalled an auto rickshaw to pull over. However, instead of stopping, the auto driver zoomed past the check post. The cops gave the auto a chase and intercepted it near the Padebettu Sri Subramanya temple entrance.
The auto occupants, including the driver, tried to escape but were caught by the cops. They found an iron rod, cutting plier, and screwdriver in the vehicle. Upon questioning, the trio said that they were planning to commit theft. They did not even possess valid documents for the auto.
Police arrested the trio who have been identified as Mohammed Muneer (24), Mohammed Arif alias Munna (37) and Akbar (36), residents of Kursu Gudde of Bajpe Kalavara. The arrested have theft and other cases registered against them in Padubidri police station.
