Gurdaspur:  A Pakistani woman was shot dead by BSF personnel along the International Border in the Dera Baba Nanak Sector when she trespassed into Indian territory, an official said today.

A Border Security Force (BSF) patrol team detected suspicious movement along the barbed wire fence at the border outpost in Ghania Ke last night, the official said.

The woman, who is yet to be identified, was shot dead when she ignored their warning to surrender and kept moving towards them, he said. The Pakistani Rangers refused to accept the body of the woman, the official said, adding that it was later handed over to Dera Baba Nanak police station for last rites.
