Udupi: Yoga is for daily practice and not a single day’s action. This is the first thing that Yoga guru’s generally tell to those who indulge in Yoga believing that health is from Yoga. The clear opinion is that, though the practice time may reduce, it must be practiced daily.
Shri Vidyadhisha Teertha Shri Pada of Paryaya Palimar Mutt age is 63. But, the reason behind his youthfulness is yoga and daily practice of Pranayama.
Shri left for “Tapassu’ at a very young age. It is been decades since he received the power of Palimar Mutt after leaving home. Also many decades of practicing yoga have passed. Even today, yoga is a part of his life. Along with daily practice of Pranayama, he also practices Shirshasana, Sarvangasana, Pashchimottasana and many other asanas. He dedicates 30-45minutes for this.
Dr. Krishna Bhat who is prominently trying to popularize yoga in Karavali is a motivator to Palimar Swamiji’s yoga practice. The traditional Sanyasi’s of old are known as “Well versed in Ashtanga yoga”.
Then negligent, now desirable
“Earlier, people used to mock individuals practicing Pranayama by calling them names like “People keeping hands on their nose” and “People who close their nose”. Now there are lakhs of people who indulge in yoga and practice Pranayama. Yoga guru’s like Baba Ramdev has made it popular. Even I have been benefited from Yoga. It is a happy fact to witness the spread of awareness worldwide that it is good for health,” said Shri Vidyadhishateertha Swamiji, Paryaya Shri Palimar Mutt.
