Mangaluru: Bags containing polypropylene found at Tannirbhavi Beach

Panambur: As many as 50 bags filled with polypropylene, each weighing 25 kg, were found at Tannirbhavi Beach here.

On Tuesday morning, the bags were found washed ashore. Upon inspection, the industrial raw material was found in them. Padmanabh Panikkar, who manages the beach, informed the Panambur police about the find.

Polypropylene, a petrochemical product, is used in various goods, including plastics and pharmaceuticals. The material is priced at Rs 100 per kg, and each bag contains 25 kg. It is estimated that the total value of the seized goods is Rs 1.25 lakh.
