Mandya: A floating tiger carcass found in the Tonnuru lake on Wednesday in the Pandavapura taluk of the district here later turned out to be a stuffed toy tiger.

Videos and photos of the supposed dead tiger went viral on social media.

Soon officials from the Forest Department arrived and on checking found out that it was a tiger-shaped toy.

The toy, reportedly, might have been disposed off in the lake after the ‘Hulivahanotsava’ and the Mahadeshwara Swamy jatra in a nearby village.

Due to rains, the toy, which might have been stuck in the overgrowth, was loos and started floating in the lake’s water.
