Panemangaluru mass suicide: Daughter’s corpse found

Mangaluru: Three persons of the same family had jumped into the Netravati river from Panemangaluru bridge located along Mangaluru-Bengaluru national highway on Saturday night and the copse of a lady among them was found on Sunday.

The deceased is identified as Kalpana Mandanna (20) and her corpse was found near Innoli lake on Sunday. The corpse has been shifted to K S Hegde hospital for autopsy.

The three victims who had arrived to the bridge in a Eeco car bearing Mysuru registration, had stopped the car near the bridge, threw their dog into the river first and then all three of them jumped into the river.

Later it was found that the victims were from Virajpet. Among the victims, a woman, was rescued by the locals and rushed to the hospital where she breathed her last.

The deceased woman was identified as Kavita Mandanna. The search for her two children, Kaushik and Kalpita was continued and now, Kalpita’s corpse has been recovered while the search for Kaushik is ongoing.
