Jammu : The Panun Kashmir, an organisation for displaced Kashmiri Pandits, today demanded the sacking of the Jammu and Kashmir Governor and the state government over its “failure” to provide security to the people and curb terrorism.
“We urge the government of India to sack the Mehbooba Mufti government and also remove Governor N N Vohra for his failure,” the organisation’s convenor, Agni Shakhar, told reporters here. Chairman Panun Kashmir Ajay Chrungoo condemned the statement of Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh in which he blamed the hapless victims of the Amarnath terror attack for travelling in an “unregistered bus”.
The Panun Kashmir demanded setting up of defence panels in the state to deal with growing terrorism.
“It is time that Mohalla-level defense committees are formed by the citizens to save the state,” Chrungoo said.
