Hubballi: While addressing presspersons in Hubballi on Thursday, National spokesperson for BJP Sambit Patra was forced to wind it up when he was bombarded with questions about the Mahadayi dispute. Patra was in a press conference with Opposition leader in the assembly Jagadish Shettar, where he said that it was UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi who had failed her promise that she would not allow Mahadayi water to be diverted to Karnataka.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised the people that the BJP would resolve the issue through dialogue, once it comes to power. But when reporters pointed out that it was the same thing which Sonia Gandhi said a few years ago, Patra had no answer. He just repeated that the BJP would resolve the issue when it comes to power. When pressed further, Patra hurriedly wound up the press conference and left the venue immediately.
During the conference, Patra had accused the Congress party and its National President Rahul Gandhi of being involved with organisations that were charged with anti-national activities. He also alleged that the party was responsible for the 10,000 voter IDs seized at an apartment in Rajarajeshwari Nagar constituency in Bengaluru.
