Tumkur: In the aftermath of the tragic deaths of three women after surgeries at the public hospital in Pavagada, further actions have been taken. Three individuals, including an anesthetist, were suspended late on Tuesday night, following the dismissal of three employees earlier implicated in the incident.

Obstetrician and gynecologist Dr. H.M. Pooja, nurse G. Padmavathy, and OT technician B. R. Kiran, were dismissed for alleged dereliction of duty.

Anesthesiologist Dr. Namrata, and midwives K. Nagaratnamma, and B. Marake were initially transferred elsewhere. They have now been suspended in connection with the unfortunate events at Pavagada Hospital, as per directives from senior officials.

Of the 7 women admitted for various treatments at the Maternal and Child Hospital linked to Pavagada’s Government Public Hospital, Anjali (25), Anita (30), and Narasamma (40) had died.
