Pedestrian killed in car accident near Uchila on NH-66

Kapu: A pedestrian died after being hit by a car near the Uchila rickshaw stand on National Highway 66 on the morning of Friday, January 10.

The deceased has been identified as Srinivasa Tonithaya (72), a resident of Kunjuru.

Srinivasa Tonithaya was crossing the road near Uchila, when the car traveling from Udupi towards Mangaluru hit him. He sustained severe injuries and died on the spot.

The body was shifted to the Padubidri Primary Health Centre by ambulance.

Padubidri Police, led by Station Officer Prasanna Kumar, visited the scene and have registered a case.
