Vishwaprasanna Theertha of Shri Pejavar Math expressed objection to the statements made by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s son, Yatindra, and senior Congress leader BK Hariprasad. The Seer disapproved of their suggestion that the creation of a Hindu Rashtra by RSS-BJP could lead to a situation similar to Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Addressing presspersons on Thursday, January 4 after visiting Jnan Yogashram in the city, Abbot Vishwaprasanna Theertha emphasized that India has always been a Hindu nation, inclusive of people from various castes, religions, creeds, and sects. He raised concerns about the implications behind the statements predicting the creation of another Pakistan and Afghanistan, implying that such notions had been premeditated.
The Seer criticized BK Hariprasad for invoking the memory of the Godhra incident, accusing him of attempting to instill fear in the country. He urged Hariprasad to promptly inform the authorities if he had information about potential vandalism instead of making alarming public statements.
Regarding the construction of the Ram Mandir, Vishwaprasanna Theertha highlighted that the long-standing dream was now becoming a reality after 500 years. He countered the Congress leaders’ opposition to the Ram Mandir, asserting that the construction had the support of those dreaming of it for centuries.
Responding to statements from former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar and former Deputy Chief Minister Lakshmana Savadi, who claimed they were not invited to the Ram Mandir’s dedication, the Seer clarified that due to space constraints, not everyone could be invited, and representation was being utilized.
The Seer dismissed allegations that the BJP’s dedication of the Ram Mandir was politically motivated during the Lok Sabha elections, asserting that the temple dedication was a long-awaited event, unrelated to electoral gains. He criticized the government’s timing of arrests related to the dedication, insisting it sent the wrong message.
