Udupi: Shri Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math breathed his last on Sunday morning.
The mortal remains of the 88-year-old pontiff will be kept at Ajjara Kaadu in Udupi for public homage from 10 am to 1 pm. Later his body will be airlifted to Bengaluru where it will be interred in Brindavana on the premises of Vidya Peetha at around 7 pm today.
The seer had expressed his desire to be laid to rest at Vidya Peetha in Bengaluru last evening informed Udupi MLA K Raghupati Bhat.
It is learnt that the rituals related to bathing the seer and offering arathi will be performed at the mutt. After 1 pm, the body will be airlifted to Bengaluru and will be kept for public darshan at National college ground.
Condoling the demise of the seer, Yediyurappa said, “May Lord Krishna grant salvation to his soul. I would pray for the devotees to give them the strength to overcome their pain.”
