Bengaluru: Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who is facing allegations of sexual abuse, is expected to surrender before the Special Investigation Team (SIT), on Sunday, May 5.

Sources claimed that Prajwal Revanna, who was on a trip abroad, has curtailed his journey and is anticipated to surrender before the SIT.

It is gathered that Prajwal is expected to present himself before the SIT upon his return to Bengaluru from Germany.

Sources indicate that authorities at the Bengaluru airport are prepared to intercept him upon his arrival and hand him over to the SIT for further investigation. Amidst these developments, Prajwal and his legal counsel have reportedly deliberated and opted for surrender.

On Saturday, Prajwal’s father and JDS leader H.D. Revanna was taken into custody by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) after the People’s Representative Court rejected his anticipatory bail in a sexual assault case.

The 33-year-old Prajwal Revanna, who is the grandson of former PM H D Deve Gowda, was the BJP-JD(S) alliance’s candidate from Hassan, which went to the polls on April 26.

Explicit video clips allegedly involving Prajwal Revanna had started making the rounds in Hassan recently, following which the state government constituted the SIT to probe the scandal.

Prajwal Revanna is said to have flown abroad on April 27, a day after the first phase of Lok Sabha polls in Karnataka was held. His advocate had sought seven days for him to appear before the SIT, to which the investigating team has replied it is not possible as there is no such provision.
