People must be penalised for not accepting third gender: Padmashree Manjamma Jogati

“If the society had accepted transgenders they wouldn’t be compelled to beg and therefore the society must be fined for not accepting them first,” said Karnataka Folk Academy Chairperson, Padma Shri Manjamma Jogati on Saturday, October 16.

In a Facebook Live with Udayavani.com, Padmashree Manjamma Jogathi recalled the moments of her life and shared the struggles she faced as a transwoman.

In the live, she explains the various issues a transperson faces, from not being accepted by the family to being thrown out of the house. She also spoke about the help the community provides for the kids that are thrown out of their house.
