PFI defamation case: Spl court grants conditional bail to BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje

Bengaluru: A special Court on Thursday granted conditional bail to Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje in connection with a defamation suit filed by Popular Front of India (PFI).
Judge of the special court for the trial of complaints against elected representatives, Ramachandra D Huddar granted relied to the BJP MP on a personal bond worth Rs 50,000 and Rs 10,000 security deposit.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 200 as Karandlaje had failed to appear before the court earlier.
The PFI had filed the defamation case against Karandlaje following her allegation that Mansoor Ali Khan, an accused in the IMA scam, is spending a lot of money on PFI’s activities after collecting monetary deposits from people.
