Picasso’s ‘Woman sitting by a window’ painting sells for ₹758 crore in 19 minutes at auction

New York: Pablo Picasso’s ‘Woman sitting by a window’ sold for $103.4 million (around ₹758 crore) at Christie’s auction house in New York.
The auction house said that the painting was sold within 19 minutes of bidding. As many as five works by the late Spanish painter have now sold for at least $100 million at auctions.
The painting completed in 1932, was acquired only eight years ago at a London sale for 28.6 million pounds
Also, the sale of the painting confirms the vitality of the artwork market regardless of the Covid-19 pandemic
