Pick-up vehicle-lorry accident kills one; critically injures two

Brahmavar: A pick-up vehicle crashed into the rear of a lorry claiming the life of a youth and grievously injuring two others near Uppoor along NH 66 during the early hours of Sunday May 19th.
The deceased has been identified as Hanumanthappa (18), son of Shivappa and Lakshmamma couple of Badami taluk in Bagalakote. The grievously injured is the pick-up driver Shivappa (22) also of Badami and another labourer of North Karnataka origin.
The mishap occurred when the driver of the pick-up lost control over the vehicle and ended up crashing into the rear of the lorry. The passengers of the vehicle along with the driver were on way to Ambalpady after completing works pertaining to a function at Kundapur on Saturday night when the tragedy occurred.
The impact of the crash was such that the pick-up vehicle was totally smashed. A case in this regard has been registered at Brahmavar police station.
