Pilikula Nisargadhama procures electric vehicles for public use

Vamanjoor: Strictly following the green initiative, Dr Shivaram Karanth Pilikula Nisargadhama has procured electrical vehicles for ht e movement of visitors inside the park.
The environment-friendly vehicles were purchased pooling in the Rs 1 crore grant provided by the state government through Malnad Development Board and Coastal Development Authority. The procured vehicles will be dedicated for public use in front of the box office on the Nisargadhama from Saturday Jan 5th.
Visitors can avail the service of the electric vehicles to roam around the Nisargadhama at the cost of Rs 25 for adults and Rs 10 for children. The service also provides hop in and hop out facility throughout the park. Due to security reasons, use of any other form of vehicle is banned within the park.
Bus route changed
City buses going towards Yedapadavu inside Pilikula Nisargadhama will now go via Moodshedde road. Only with prior permission can the residents of Yedapadavu and the surrounding areas can pass through the Nisargadhama.
However, buses hired by educational institutions for excursion purposes will be allowed to enter the Nisargadhama but only with prior permission from the authorities and after paying the parking fee. This is being done to preserve the rare Western Ghat species housed here, inform he authorities.
