Mangaluru: The popular Pilikula Regional Science Centre is all set to open an ’Innovation Hub’ at its premises to inculcate basic knowledge of science in the students.

Pilikula Science Centre’s proposal of Rs 1.8 crore to the Union government to start an ‘innovation hub’ here has received approval from the government. If everything goes according to plan, the ‘innovation hub’ will start functioning from November.

The ‘innovation hub’ would have facilities to conduct laboratory tests and encourage students to opt for further research. Students as well as teachers may visit the hub, undertake various projects and get guidance in the field of their interest.

“Our primary target is to provide information to the high school students. However, we are ready to share information with college students too,” said K V Rao, Director, Pilikula Regional Science Centre.
