Pit Bull ‘Jenny’ saves kids from venomous snake, becomes internet hero

A fearless pit bull named Jenny is the talk of the internet after saving a group of children from a venomous Cobra in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. The dramatic encounter, captured on video, shows Jenny lunging at the snake, biting it, and shaking it furiously until the reptile dies.

The incident took place in the Shiv Ganesh Colony, where the children were playing in their garden. Upon hearing their panicked screams, Jenny broke free from her leash and charged at the cobra. In a dramatic confrontation, the dog bit the snake and repeatedly slammed it to the ground, not letting go until the reptile lay lifeless. The entire struggle lasted about five minutes.

“If Jenny hadn’t acted quickly, a tragedy could have happened. She saved their lives, and we are forever grateful,” said Punjab Singh, Jenny’s owner, while speaking to NDTV.

What makes this story even more incredible is that this isn’t Jenny’s first heroic encounter. According to Singh, the pit bull has killed up to 10 snakes in the past, particularly during the rainy season when snakes are commonly spotted near their home.

Earlier this year, the Indian government announced a ban on the import, sale, and breeding of pit bulls, along with 22 other dog breeds, after several incidents of dog attacks were reported. However, Jenny’s owner strongly disagrees with the ban. “People say negative things about pit bulls, but Jenny has never harmed anyone. We should show animals love, not fear,” Singh said.

The video of Jenny’s courageous battle with the King Cobra has gone viral on social media, with netizens hailing her as a true hero and calling for a rethink of the pit bull ban.
