Hello, we have all heard of the hit movie ‘Planet of the Apes’. Here we shall explore something a bit different. Read on, this is serious.
To begin:
Every time we think of our solar system with its unique planets, numerous moons, and varied heavenly bodies, it never ceases to amaze us. The system as a whole seems to be following an unseen, unspoken rule; a silent cosmic law laid down by some mysterious power, call it by whatever good name, as Shakespeare put it “A rose by any other name smells as sweet.”
Each planet and each moon scrupulously sticks to its own path of orbit or other path of movement, never deviating, never transgressing – always in harmony and peace. And when it comes to our very own blue planet Earth we observe that very much the same pattern continues on a smaller scale; all the innumerable varieties of flora and fauna, be it animals, birds, fish, trees or others; all of them strictly adhere to the laws laid down by mother nature, again never deviating, always obeying natural laws resulting here too in an atmosphere of order and continuity and no catastrophe through this.
So, in the grand scheme of things, from our own planet Earth to the solar system and likely beyond that as well there are set laws; laws that must and are always followed. Creation has indeed been perfect everywhere, well, not entirely. The God-given system has slowly started degenerating with the appearance from among millions of varied life forms, of a small band of dangerous misfits among generally kind humans. Just as a wretched germ destroys the fur coat of a revered sacred cow leaving it hairless in patches and riddled with painful and disfiguring sores, so has this misfit done and continues to do with Mother Earth, thoughtlessly destroying all forests, all animals, and all other forms of life wherever possible and leaving her riddled with unsightly overexploited barren land, drying rivers, and a horribly polluted atmosphere.
This scourge knows of no laws of nature nor is he interested in knowing, all that matters is insatiable greed. This kind is also completely unaware that just as the parasitic germ that disfigures and kills a furry animal dies along with its host, they too face a similar fate sooner than later and the clock has already started ticking.
Earth is readying to fight back; the signs are unmistakable. Climate change, melting ice caps, rising sea levels, deforestation and landslides, desertification, extinctions of countless species, country-sized masses of plastic waste in the oceans; the list goes on and it appears that an invisible avatar is slowly stepping in to mete out punishment.
However, not all is lost, there is still a slim silver lining. Many, many good humans live among this small number of dangerous ones and some of these kind ones are also powerful, they know the horrific future consequences and so now, most importantly on a global level, it is up to such people ‘to catch ’em young’, to arrange to guide and educate impressionable-age school children to love and preserve nature through changes in school curricula eliminating unnecessary topics and providing the much-needed thrust on nature-related matters mostly through practical knowledge such as proper trash disposal, not only planting but also raising saplings, caring for animals and appreciating the wonders of nature.
At the other end, it is equally important to impose draconian laws on the grown-up evil transgressors before it is too late with no nature or greenery left and in their place only computer Apps for us to aptly earn the title of the PLANET OF THE APPS
