Plantation owner shoots dead man caught stealing areca nut

Madikeri: In a shocking incident an areca nut plantation owner shot dead a man allegedly a thief on Thursday late night in Karika village here.
The deceased has been identified as Devangodi Ganesh.
As per the police, the accused Mundodi Monappa opened fire at Ganesh when he found him stealing areca nuts from his house, thus killing him on the spot.
A case in this regard has been registered at Bhagmandala police station.
