#PlasticFreeKudla: MCC seizes 83.37kg plastic during inspection drive

Mangaluru: Officials of Mangaluru City Corporation on thursday, September 5 confiscated 83.37kg of plastic and collected Rs 36,750 fine from various shops during an inspection drive.

A ban on single-use plastic has been imposed in the state since September 1 and to ensure stricter implementation, authorities have formed four teams to conduct inspection drive at various places.

Each team will be conducting three raids a week and action would be initiated against violators, including cancellation of trade license, it was informed.

Today’s raids were carried out at Valencia, Pump Well, Bendoor, Karangalpady, Bijai, and Suratkal.
