Players drafted for Maharaja T20 Cup; Mangaluru United rope in Abhinav Manohar

The player draft for the KSCA’s Maharaja T20 Cup was held at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday, July 3o.

A total of 6 teams — Shivamogga Strikers, Mysore Warriors, Hubli Tigers, Mangalore United, Gulbarga Mystics, and Kalyani Bangalore Blasters — will feature this time in the Maharaja T20 Cup, which is a revamped version of the Karnataka Premier League.

Notably, the players were not selected through an auction as is done in IPL. Instead, a shortlist was created, through which the various teams selected the players they wanted. Players had been divided into four categories – Category A (India and IPL players), Category B (senior state), Category C (U-25, U-23, and U-19), and Category D (emerging players).

The tourney will commence on August 7.
