Udupi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi recollected memories of the Jana Sangh Party winning the Udupi Municipal Corporation election in the 1960s.
He spoke about this while addressing the India Conclave of Mayors of BJP-ruled cities on Tuesday, September 20, through video conferencing held in Gandhinagar of Gujarat.
PM Modi said, “The Udupi Municipal Corporation under the Jana Sangh rule in the 1960s used to secure top place in terms of people-friendly administration. People had faith in the administration of the Municipal Corporation ruled by Jana Sangh in those days”.
Meanwhile, as many as 118 mayors and deputy mayors of BJP-ruled urban local bodies from 18 states and Union Territories are participating in the two-day event.
