Bengaluru: Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be unveiling the statue of “Nadaprabhu” Kempegowda on November 2 at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) located at Devanahalli.
Addressing the media on Thursday, September 1, after laying the foundation stone for “Nadaprabhu” Kempegowda Theme Park he said, “In Rome, there is a historic landmark of Aristotle who gave teachings to Alexander. But we have a greater history than that. Unfortunately, we are fast forgetting history. In a couple of years from now, nobody will know who Kempegowda was. For this, we’ll not only install a statue but also develop all those landmarks where Kempegowda visited and lived”.
“For this project, former chief minister, and veteran BJP leader B S Yediyurappa had laid the foundation stone in his tenure. Currently, we have not only laid the foundation stone but will also bring soil from each village of the Karnataka state to be incorporated in the theme park. This will help us inspire from the great works done by Kempegowda towards this land”, he added.
