New Delhi: As we approach the end of the year, Twitter announced the top tweets from India on Tuesday, December 10. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tweet celebrating BJP’s victory in Lok Sabha election emerged as the most retweeted and liked tweet of the year. The microblogging platform also hailed this tweet as ‘Golden Tweet’ in India.

In hashtags, #loksabhaelections2019 became the highest used hashtag, followed by #chandrayaan2, #cwc19, #pulwama and #article370.
ISRO’s Chandrayan-2 mission was one of the highest trending events of the year as Twitteratis were buzzing with hashtag, #Chandrayaan2. This event highlighted India’s technological contribution to space research and had the world tweeting on this occasion.
Among most mentioned twitter handles in politics, Union Minister Smriti Irani topped the chart followed by Congress Leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, followed by former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the respective order.
