Belagavi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting the state to address a ranchers’ rally in Chikkodi on July 29.
“He will talk on the increased minimum support price, the national agriculture market, the PM crop protection plans and the advisory group on increasing farmer income,” a senior BJP pioneer said.
“BJP pioneers of the district are seeing this as the virtual beginning of the 2019 Lok Sabha election. There is a lot going for it work as the BJP has never won Chikkodi Parliament seat. It will be our concentration this time,” the pioneers said. Prabhakar Kore, MP, will chair a meeting of party workers in Chikkodi to prepare for the rally. Leaders like Lakshman Savadi, Shashikanth Nayak, and others will take part.
A group of the Special Protection Group are in contact with district police about security arrangements for the rally. As of late, the Prime Minister’s security has been upgraded and protocols have been changed.
This will be examined with the SPG on Monday, a cop said.
