Udupi: BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje claimed that PM Modi’s visit to Udupi Sri Krishna Math was cancelled fearing threat to his life.

Talking to a news channel, when questioned on PM’s visit to Krishna Mutt being cancelled, Karandlaje said that SPG had advised the PM not to visit the Math following security issues.

“PM Modi is a great devotee of Lord Sri Krishna and Lord Rama, he was disappointed that he could not visit the Math and that his temple darshan was cancelled,” she added.

“But we do not know the exact reason why he was stopped by the SPG from visiting the Math,” she said.

PM Modi addressed a huge gathering at MGM grounds here. His visit to the temple was scheduled earlier, the BJP later clarified that his visit was cancelled just hours before his arrival.
