Police arrest 9 gamblers, size cash

Mangaluru: Nine persons were arrested by the City Crime Branch (CCB) on the charges of gambling at Dambel and seized Rs 30,440 in cash, cards and tables which were used for gambling on Sunday October 28th.

The arrested accused have been identified as Mohan D (28), a resident of Ashoknagar, Aboobakar Siddique (26) of Kumble Kasaragod district, Vinod Kumar (28) of Talapady, Durgappa Gudimani (29) of Rona Gadag district, Mohammed Yusuf (46) and Sandesh Baliga (29) of Kukkandoor Karkala, Balappa Honnappa Horaginamani (27) of Bagalkot, Ismail (53) of Valachil and Pammi alias Praveen (25) of Kodialbail.

Based on a definite tip-off the CCB police team headed by inspector Shantharam and inspectors Shyam Sunder and H D Kabbal Raj went to Dambel and located the group of youth involved in gambling and arrested all the 9 people along with seizing cash and goods used in gambling.

Kavoor police have registered a case in this connection.
