Police arrest five involved in robbery

Puttur: District Crime Information Bureau (DCIB) Police arrested a group of youth who were carrying on an organized racket of robbery.

The police arrested Pramod Sharma (33) Ankush Raj (27) Tun Tun Kumar (24) Karan Kumar (19) and Prince Kumar (19) hailing from Bihar.

The police said that the DCIB team found them roaming around in a suspicious manner on Thursday night.

It has been reported that, DCIB Inspector Sunil Y. Naik along with personnel stumbled upon the gang accidently during routine night rounds at Mani near Puttur on Thursday night. When the squad reached Kollaje Bus Stop near Kumbra, they observed a group of five behaving suspiciously.

Upon further enquiry the police found the group carrying knife, iron rod, chisel and hammer, chilipowder, hand gloves and plaster which aids them in attempting burglary into the houses of rich persons of the locality.
