Police arrest four for assaulting a woman

Bengaluru: The Jeevan Bhima Nagar police have arrested four men for professedly sexually assaulting a lady techie, and assaulting her colleague when he protested their conduct. The incident took place on Old Airport Road on April 13. 

The accused are identified as Ajay Srinivas (26), Mahesh Gopal (26), Santosh Gowda (24), and Naveen Seetharam (26). According to the police, it was Mahesh’s birthday and his friends, including the prime accused Ajay, had celebrated at a bar. 

They were sitting outside the bar after lunch when two ladies and a man passed them. 

Ajay professedly passed a lustful remark and grabbed the lady who slapped him. Her male partner questioned their conduct and endeavored to oppose when he was allegedly assaulted and ambushed by the men who then fled the spot.
