Police arrest techies-turned-drug peddlers in B’luru

Bengaluru: Police have arrested two youths on charges of peddling drugs to foreigners in the city and seized Rs two crore rupees worth Hashish from their possession.
The arrested identified as Muhammed Irfan and Tariq Hassan used to work as software engineers in Dubai. However, during the pandemic, they lost their jobs and returned to their hometown.
Due to the sudden turn of events, the duo found it difficult to maintain their lifestyle and it was at this time that they met a Hyderabad-based man who would supply them drugs that were meant to be sold to his foreign customers in Bengaluru,
The youngsters made quick money by suppling drugs two to three times a month to foreigners.
Both the accused have been taken into custody but they haven’t yet divulged any details of the Hyderabad man who supplied them with Hashish.
Police said that once they are able to ascertain the identity of the Hyderabad drug supplier, they will be able to crack more drug cartels.
