Police books hall management, organiser for causing traffic chaos

Mangaluru: The police department has started taking stricter action against those causing traffic problems by way of parking vehicles haphazardly and in no parking zones. In this backdrop, the city (west) traffic police have registered a case against a convention centre in the city on Sunday, July 28.

The police registered the case against the owner and manager of Dr T M A Pai Convention Centre at Kodialbail here as well as organizers of the function under section 283 of the IPC. The accused have been charged with creating bottlenecks in the traffic on the road opposite the hall by way of parking of about 25 vehicles on both the sides of the road.

The parked vehicles not only occupied footpaths on both sides of the road causing inconvenience to the general public, but also hindered the movement of emergency vehicles.
