Police bust prostitution racket, arrest five

Bengaluru: Acting on a tip-off from reliable sources, the city police on Friday busted a prostitution racket being carried out from a residence in Marathahalli and arrested five persons.

Marathahalli resident Ganesh; Subhashnagar resident K.R. Jagadish; Koramangala resident Uday Kumar; C.V. Mohan, a resident of 3rd Main Fifth Block and Arun a native of Andhra Pradesh are the arrested. Three women who had been forced into the flesh trade were rescued during the raids conducted on late Friday evening.

The flesh trade was being carried out from the house belonging to Ganesh near Gayatri Devi temple here while Mohan and Jagadish were involved in trafficking of girls. The other two – Uday Kumar and Arun – brought customers.

A police team, led by inspector Ramachandra conducted the raids.
